Ana Mafalda Leite/CEsA publishes “Tides – Instructive Poems” in a bilingual anthology on Ecopoetics
The poet, Professor at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon (FLUL/ULisboa) and researcher at CEsA (CSG/ISEG-ULisboa), Professor Ana Mafalda Leite, is the author of the poem Tides – Instructive Poems, featured in the bilingual anthology (Portuguese-English) on Ecopoetics titled DEZ AR MAR / TEN SEA AIR (published by Casa de Gigante in collaboration with the Centre for English Studies at the University of Lisbon).
The work, organised by Margarida Vale de Gato and José Duarte, brings together 25 authors who reflect on navigating in times of climate crisis. In addition to Ana Mafalda Leite, contributors include: Abigail Chabitnov, Brenda Shaughnessy, Caleb Parkin, David Gewanter, Diana V. Almeida, Elisabete Marques, Evelyn Reilly, Frank X. Gaspar, Frederico Pedreira, Gabriel Gudding, Jeffrey Childs, Jonathan Skinner, José Duarte, Kwames Dawes, Miguel Cardoso, Maria Lis, Paula Tavares, Regina Guimarães, Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, Susana Araújo, Paulo Romão Brás, Nuno Marques, Xavier Ovídio, and Zöe Shöulding.

Launch at International Symposium
The anthology DEZ AR MAR / TEN SEA AIR was launched during the International Symposium American Studies Over_Seas: Active Ties, Tides and Times, held on November 7 and 8, 2024 at FLUL (ULisboa) and on November 9, 2024 at the Maria Lamas Library in Almada. Professor Ana Mafalda Leite participated in the roundtable discussion Language, Action, Communication, and Ecology, alongside Carlos Antunes (Faculty of Sciences/ULisboa), Francisco Silva (Almada Archaeology Centre), Mário King (rapper from Guetto Fam and the Novos Decisores PT project), and Rebecca Mateus (Associação Dunas Livres), moderated by Renata Camargo.
