“Cinema e Descolonização: Moçambique em foco” Cycle | First Session

The Centre for Studies on Africa and Development (CEsA) inaugurates the project Cycle “Cinema and Decolonization: Mozambique in focus” for regular film screenings in film club format, which aims to debate and reflect on the legacies and memories of decolonization in Mozambique.
The screenings will take place once a month, from November 2022 to July 2023, at ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics and Management – Caixa Geral de Depósitos Auditorium. Each session will have the presence of people involved in the making of the films (directors, screenwriters, etc.) as well as moderators and arguers who will facilitate the debate with the public.
The first session, with the screening of “The Time of the Leopards” (Zdravko Velimirovic, 1985, Fiction, 91 min.), will take place on November 5th, 2022, at 10.30 a.m., at ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics and Management – Caixa Geral de Depósitos Auditorium. It will be followed by a debate with the assistant director Camilo de Sousa, the researcher Iolanda Vasile and the scriptwriter Luís Carlos Patraquim.
