| Nota biográfica | Ricardo Real Pedrosa de Sousa é Professor Auxiliar de Relações Internacionais na Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade da Beira Interior, onde exerce também o cargo de Presidente do Departamento de Sociologia. Adicionalmente, é investigador integrado no Centro de Estudos Internacionais – Iscte/IUL. Anteriormente, na Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (UAL), foi Professor Associado de Relações Internacionais. Durante o seu mandato na UAL desempenhou diversas funções, nomeadamente a coordenação do doutoramento. programa de Relações Internacionais: Geopolítica e Geoeconomia, coordenação do Programa de Mestrado em Relações Internacionais, e funções como vice-diretor do centro de investigação OBSERVARE e vice-diretor da revista JANUS.NET, e-journal de Relações Internacionais. Possui um Doutoramento do Instituto Internacional de Estudos Sociais (ISS) da Universidade Erasmus de Roterdão (EUR) na Holanda, com especialização em Ciência Política e Relações Internacionais. Tem estado associado à Escola de Investigação em Paz e Conflitos (PRIO/NTNU/UiO) na Noruega, ao Centro de Estudos Africanos (CEA) do Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (IUL) e ao Centro de Estudos sobre África e Desenvolvimento (CEsA) da Lisbon School of Economics and Management (ISEG) em Portugal. Possui também um Mestrado em Estudos de Desenvolvimento pela Escola de Estudos Orientais e Africanos (SOAS) da Universidade de Londres, um diploma de pós-graduação em estudos avançados em Estudos Africanos e um diploma de Bacharel (Hons) em Gestão de Empresas, ambos do ISCTE-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa. |

| Short Biography | Ricardo Real Pedrosa de Sousa is an Assistant Professor of International Relations at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the University of Beira Interior, where he also serves as Head of the Department of Sociology. Additionally, he is a full member of the Centre for International Studies (CEI) at Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon. Previously, at the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (UAL), he held the position of Associate Professor of International Relations. During his tenure at UAL, he undertook several roles, including coordinating the PhD programme in International Relations: Geopolitics and Geoeconomics, coordinating the Master’s programme in International Relations, and serving as Deputy Director of the OBSERVARE research centre and Deputy Editor of JANUS.NET, e-journal of International Relations. He holds a PhD from the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) of Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) in the Netherlands, with a specialisation in Political Science and International Relations. He has been affiliated with the Research School on Peace and Conflict (PRIO/NTNU/UiO) in Norway, the Centre for African Studies (CEA) at Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon, and the Centre for African and Development Studies (CEsA) at the Lisbon School of Economics and Management (ISEG) in Portugal. He also holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, a postgraduate diploma in advanced studies in African Studies, and a Bachelor’s (Hons) degree in Business Management, both from Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon. |
