Nota biográfica

Daniel Bach é Director de investigação emérito do CNRS (Centre national de la recherche scientifique) no Centro Emile Durkheim – Comparative Political Science and Sociology, Universidade de Bordéus. Possui o Diplôme d’Habiliation à Diriger des Recherches (Universidade de Bordéus I), um D. Phil da Universidade de Oxford, um mestrado (DES) de Paris I (Universidade Panthéon-Sorbonne) e um BA de Sciences Po Grenoble.

 

Ensinou na Universidade Obafemi Awolowo, Ife-Ife (Nigéria), Universidade de Montreal, ISCTE em Lisboa, Universidade de Boston, Universidade Ritsumeikan, Universidade de Kobe e o LUISS Guido Carli, Roma. Antigo director do Centre d’Etude d’Afrique noire de Bordéus, foi Deakin Fellow no St Antony’s College (Universidade de Oxford), académico Fulbright (Universidade de Boston) e Fellow do Indian Council for Social Studies Research (Universidade Jawaharlal Nehru).

 

Publicou sobre o federalismo nigeriano, as políticas externas da Nigéria e da África do Sul, organizações regionais e processos de regionalização em África, bem como sobre as relações entre a França, a União Europeia, a China, a Índia e a África.

 

Daniel Bach é o editor da série Routledge Studies in African Politics and International Relations. O seu livro sobre Regionalismo em África; Genealogias, instituições e redes interestatais ( Routledge, 2016) recebeu o prémio do livro dos ex-presidentes da Association of Borderlands Studies (ABS) em Junho de 2021.

Daniel Bach

Short Biography

Daniel Bach is Director of research emeritus of the CNRS (Centre national de la recherche scientifique) at the Emile Durkheim Centre ‐ Comparative Political Science and Sociology, University of Bordeaux. He holds the Diplôme d’Habiliation à Diriger des Recherches (Bordeaux I University), a D. Phil from Oxford University, a master (DES) from Paris I (Panthéon‐Sorbonne University) and a BA from Sciences Po Grenoble.

 

He has taught at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife‐Ife (Nigeria), the University of Montréal, ISCTE in Lisbon, Boston University, Ritsumeikan University, University of Kobe and the Luis Guido Carli, Rome. A former Director of Centre d’Etude d’Afrique noire of Bordeaux, he was a Deakin Fellow at St Antony’s College (Oxford University), a Fulbright scholar (Boston University) and a Fellow of the Indian Council for Social Studies Research (Jawaharlal Nehru University).

 

He has published on Nigerian federalism, the foreign policies of Nigeria and South Africa, regional organisations and regionalisation processes in Africa, as well as on relations between France, the European Union, China, India and Africa.

 

Daniel Bach is the series editor of the Routledge studies in African Politics and International Relations. His book on Regionalism in Africa ; Genealogies, institutions and trans-state networks ( Routledge, 2016) received the Past Presidents’ book award of the Association of Borderlands Studies(ABS) in June 2021.
