Kalu Mendes (1969) is a singer, director, cameraman and producer from São Tomé. He studied production and film direction (Portugal) and virtual assembly (France). He directed short films for many institutions, among which the French Embassy in São Tomé and Santa Casa da Misericórdia. With his work, he pretends to educate the society. Among his films one can find such titles as Agua boa, vida saudável (Good Water, Healthy Life, 2011, direction) e O avesso da vida (The Other Side of Life, 2012, production).
Ângelo Torres (1966) is an actor, film director and storyteller from São Tomé. He has a degree in thermodynamic engineering from Instituto Lazaro Cardinas in Cuba. After coming to Portugal, he studied performance arts at Professional School of Arts and Crafts of Performance – Chapitô. He started his career in 1992 within Cornucópia Theater and till now has participated in numerous theatrical and cinematic productions. He acted in Flora Gomes' film Nha Fala (2002) and is the co-founder of the Cultural Association Griot. As a film director, he is the author of short feature film Kunta (2007) and documentaries Mionga ki Ôbo – Mar e selva (2005) and Os Sobreviventes (2014).
Leão Lopes is an intellectual, artist (a degree in painting by Superior School of Fine Arts in Lisbon), script-writer, film director and university professor (PhD. by University of Rennes).
