Filinto Elísio Correia e Silva was born in 1961 in Praia, Cape Verde. A professional librarian and business manager, he is as well a poet, chronicler and publisher. In the past, he taught in Somerville in the United States of America and was a counselor of the Minister of Culture in Cape Verde. In 2013, together with the Brazilian chronicler Márcia Souto, he founded the publishing house Rosa de Porcelana. He is the author of O Lado de Cá da Rosa (This Side Of the Rose, 1995), Prato do Dia (Meal of the Day, 2001, chronicles), O Inferno do Riso (The Hell of the Laughter, 2001), Das Frutas Serenadas (Fruit Serenades, 2007), Li Cores & Ad Vinhos (I Read Colours & Ad Wines, 2009), Me_xendo no baú. Vasculhando o U (Scavenging the chest. Trawling the U, 2011).

Dina Salústio was born in 1941 on the Island of Santo Antão. She is a Capeverdian poet and writer. During her professional career she worked as a primary school teacher, social assistant and journalist in Cape Verde, Portugal and Angola. She is one of the founding members of the Association of Writers of Cape Verde and writes prose, poetry and children literature. Her work can be found in many anthologies in Cape Verde and abroad and served as the case study for Master and PhD thesis. She published the following books Mornas Eram as Noites (Warm Were The Nights, 1994, short stories), A Louca de Serrano (A Crazy Woman of Serrano, 1998, novel), Estrelinha Tlim Tlim (Little Star Tlim Tlim, 2000, for children), Filhas do Vento (Daughters of the Wind, 2009, novel).
