Kiluanje Liberdade is an Angolan documentary director born in Benguela. In 1996, he finished professional course in Cinevideo at the Academy of Arts & Technologies and started to work in cinematographic production. He is co-director of many short and long documentaries about urban and artistic/musical life in Angola and São Tomé (with Inês Gonçalves). With the Angolan writer Ondjaki, he co-directed Histórias de Luanda – Oxalá, Cresçam as Pitangas. Kiluanje is co-director of the following documentaries: Outros Bairros (Other Quarters, 1998, with Inês Gonçalves and Vasco Pimentel), Histórias de Luanda – Oxalá Cresçam Pitangas (Stories from Luanda – Let the Pitangas Grow, 2007, with Ondjaki), Tchiloli – Máscaras e Mitos (Tchiloli – Masks and Myths, 2009, with Inês Gonçalves), Luanda, a Fábrica da Música (Luanda, the Fabric of Music, 2009, with Inês Gonçalves), A Minha Banda e Eu (My Band and I, 2012, with Inês Gonçalves).
