Rui Simões is a Portuguese film director and producer born in Lisbon on 20th of March 1944. He dedicates himself to political cinema (documentary) and theater and ballet filming. He left Portugal in 1966 for political reasons (to avoid participating in colonial war). Simões lived in Paris and Brussels where he attended the course of Film and Television Directing in Institut des Arts de Diffusion. He came back to Portugal after 25th of April and since then works as a film director, producer and cinema professor. He is responsible for production company Real Ficção. By now he directed the following films: Deus, Pátria, Autoridade (God, Homeland, Authority, 1976), Bom Povo Português (Good Portuguese Peoples, 1980), Ensaio Sobre o Teatro (Essay About the Theater, 2006), Ruas da Amargura (Streets of Bitterness, 2009) ...
Ruy Duarte de Carvalho (Satarém, 1941 – Swakompund, 2010) was an Angolan writer, film director and anthropologist. In the beginning of 70’s, he studied cinema in London. After coming back to Angola, he worked for the Angolan TV as a director. He got his PhD in Anthropology by École des Hautes Études de Sciences Sociales in Paris and was professor at the University of Luanda, invited professor at the University of Coimbra and University of São Paulo. He is one of the most important figures of literature and cinema in Portuguese language. Among the years, he dedicated his work to the populations of the Angolan South and joined cinema, literature and anthropology. His work contains of following titles:
