Abdulai SilaAbdulai Sila is a writer and engineer from Guinea-Bissau. He was born on 1st of April 1958 in Catió, in the South of the country, where he finished his basic education. In 1970 he moved to the city of Bissau in order to continue his studies, and it is where he lives now. In 1985 he got his degree in electrical engineering by the Technical University of Dresden (Germany). Since then he participated in many trainings on Informatics and Communication Technologies and is the founder member of many companies in this area and one of the principal promoters of new technologies in Guinea-Bissau. Odete SemedoOdete Semedo (Maria Odete da Costa Semedo) born in Bissau on 7th of November 1959 is a Guinean writer and researcher. She has a degree in Modern Languages and Literature by Nova University in Lisbon and a PhD by PUC Minas. In her home country, she held several positions in public and political office. She was president of the National Commission for UNESCO – Bissau, Minister of Health and Minister of Culture and now she is Minister of National Education. She was co-founder of Tcholona, Letters, Art and Culture Magazine. She translated to creole the script of Flora Gomes's film Olhos Azuis de Yonta (Yonta's Blue Eyes). Tony TchekaTony Tcheka (António Soares Lopes Júnior) born on 21st of December 1951 in Bissau is a Guinean journalist and writer, considered to be one of the most important names of Guinean literature. He is one of the founder members of National Union of Artists and Writers of Guinea-Bissau and his poems were published in many anthologies in Guinea, Brazil and Europe. As a journalist he worked for the RDN – National Radio of Guinea-Bissau, was editor-in-chief of a newspaper “Nô Pintcha” and a founder of its cultural and literary supplement “Bantabá”.
