Jorge António is a Portuguese director and producer with a long work experience in Angola. He was born in Lisbon on 8th of June 1966 and graduated in cinema producing from Superior Insitute of Theater and Cinema in 1988. He works as a director and producer in Portugal and Angola and collaborates with film companies and magazines in both countries. In 1991, he started his work as a director with short documentary O Funeral (The Funeral) and in 1993 directed his first full-length film and the first Luso-Angolan co-production O Miradouro da Lua (The Viewpoint Of the Moon). Between 2007 and 2009, he was consultant for the foreign affairs in the Angolan Institute of Cinema, Audiovisual and Multimedia and member of the executive commission of the First International Film Festival in Luanda (2008). His documentary O Lendário Tio Liceu e os Ngola Ritmos (The Legendary Tio Liceu and the Ngola Ritmos) won the prize for the Best Angolan Documentary in International Film Festival in Luanda. António rejected the prize for not having Angolan citizenship.
