The Portuguese Diaspora in Angola (2002-2012)

The project aims to estimate the number of Portuguese living in Angola and characterize the type of people and geographical distribution by district capitals. The investigation falls within the framework of international migrations, and flows of Portuguese emigrants to Angola between 2002 and 2012. It also aims to contextualize the Portuguese diaspora in the Angolan socioeconomic framework. The project considers socially relevant the characterization of the new currents of Portuguese people to Angola when this African country goes through a period of peace and economic expansion, providing attractive job opportunities for workers from Portugal. The information gathered will be published in book form at the end of the project.
