Brief Biography

Associate Professor at the Lusophone University of Humanities and Technologies and researcher at CEsA/ISEG - University of Lisbon. He holds a PhD in Economics with a specialization in Tourism from ISEG (University of Lisbon). He has published several books: from Statistics, Scientific Methodology and issues related to the process of Sustainable Development of small Island Economies. He has participated assiduously in several scientific events (seminars and conferences), abroad and in Portugal, mainly related to the economy, marketing and tourism. Has scientific competences especially in the area of Economy and in the area of Tourism. He teaches several curricular units in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycles. He has coordinated numerous Master's as well as doctoral dissertations in public and private university institutions. He has been invited by the main institutions of university education to be an arguer of dissertations and theses. He has participated in international research projects by CEsA and other institutions in Portugal, Russia, Ukraine, Greece, Czech Republic and Cape Verde. In scientific terms it has dozens of international and national articles published in the foreigner in renowned scientific journals especially in the areas of tourism marketing and sustainable development and tourism effects on the economy as a development tool. In parallel, he is an international consultant and has participated in several projects for the Government of Cape Verde and in the study of the location of the new Lisbon airport among many others.
